About the position
Fabrizio d’Adda di Fagagna’s group in IFOM, Milan (Italy), has an opening for a motivated research fellow at the postdoctoral level to study the telomere biology in cancer, specifically in Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres (ALT) cancer cells. We have a long standing interest in telomere biology (d’Adda di Fagagna Nature 2003, Fumagalli Nature Cell Biology 2012) and cancer (Di Micco Nature 2006) in relation to the engagement of the DNA damage response (DDR) signaling pathways. In addition, we recently demonstrated a key role for non coding RNA synthesized at DNA lesions (Francia Nature 2012, Michelini Nature Cell Biology 2017) including dysfunctional telomeres (Rossiello Nature Communications 2017, Aguado Nature Communications 2019, Sepe EMBO Reports 2022). By leveraging on a large body of unpublished data, the candidate will probe the interplay between telomeric non coding RNA and epigenetic regulators that emerged from a large drugs screen with the aim of developing efficacious ALT cancer treatments.
