Welcome to the 2018 IFOM symposium on "Evolution, Resistance and Cancer". The meeting will bring together experts with diverse scientific backgrounds, studying multiple aspects of evolution and drug resistance, with a focus on cancer. Invited speakers include mathematical modelers, clinicians and experimentalists, working on basic problems related to evolution, cancer initiation, progression and resistance to treatment. The meeting's main goal is to create the enabling conditions for participants to establish new collaborations, build-up networks, and to share tools and ideas on mechanisms of evolution, particularly in the context of cancer.
