The DNA metabolism laboratory headed by Prof Vincenzo Costanzo invites applications for postdoctoral fellowship position
The DNA metabolism lab has made fundamental contribution to understand the role of BRCA2/RAD51 proteins in DNA replication and replication fork protection against DNA nucleases, a concept that was first established by Prof Costanzo
The successful applicant will lead a project aimed at understanding the mechanisms of replication fork protection operated by BRCA proteins altered in cancer cells. The position, funded by AIRC, is for three years, renewable. Salary is internationally competitive.
Multiple approaches including DNA electron microscopy, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry including Xenopus laevis egg extract, mass spectrometry and CRISPR based genetic technologies will be used.
Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. in the field of cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, or biochemistry. The successful candidate should have demonstrated productivity in related fields and have the talent and dedication to take advantage of the vast resources available at IFOM.
Experience in one of the following areas is preferred: biochemistry, molecular biology, DNA and chromatin biology. Previous experience with Xenopus egg extract is a plus but not a prerequisite.
