2nd IFOM Symposium - Advanced Lecture Course

Ubiquitin-assisted autophagy
from mechanisms to pathology

October 11-13, 2017 | IFOM, Milan - Italy

The autophagy field is expanding at an astounding pace, and the techniques used to interrogate it are becoming ever more sophisticated. This course consists of entry-level, educational lectures by distinguished leaders in the field who will highlight major themes and approaches. The program is complemented by a strong leading edge component provided by investigators exploring different facets of autophagy who will present their most recent data.

The course is highly interactive, and selected students and lecturers are encouraged to engage in a wide range of activities outside of the lectures. The inclusion of a poster session, short presentations, as well as a "Meet the Expert" session, all taking place in a very informal and comfortable atmosphere, will facilitate knowledge exchange and stimulate networking in a convivial setting.

Lectures will outline most recent developments in different aspects of autophagy (half an hour). Teachers were asked to use this time to explain terms, principles, methodologies and major questions in their field of interest.

Talks from experts in the field.

Poster sessions and "one poster/three slides" presentations will allow young scientists to present their own work, to seek for helpful discussions and to establish collaborations.

"Meet the expert" lunch session will allow for extensive young/senior scientist discussions.

Social event at the beginning of the course to improve networking.

The number of places for these courses is limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
